Muralla corner Victoria Streets, Intramuros, Manila.
Whenever we pass by Intramuros, the hotel calls my attention. There floats the hotel's name with a promise of a very relaxing stay, surrounded by the historic walls in which it is ensconced. I gave in to the promise of this boutique hotel therefore and booked a superior room via Agoda for the sweet price of $88.
We arrived early on a rainy Saturday morning and circled the hotel twice to look for a parking spot. We ended up availing its valet service. Our room wasn't available yet so we thought we'd have lunch at the hotel's restaurant located at its topmost floor. 9 Spoons boasts not only of tasty dishes but a spectacular view of Intramuros grounds. The pizza and spaghetti were good that even Zac, who is fast becoming a picky eater, loved them.
By the time we were done with lunch, our room was available. The view from our room was worth the long wait.
It's a nice enough room - clean and spacious. Hotel internet was fast and reliable. There was a lot of space for our stuff and our litter that for an organized me, it was heaven. Since the weather didn't cooperate for an afternoon stroll around Intramuros, we enjoyed to the full extent the luxurious sheets and soft pilows.
Breakfast the morning after was somewhat disappointing because there was no bacon. There was not much to feed my picky eater as well so we ended up ordering pancakes at McDonald's for the little tyke.
